40 Days to Personal Revolution March 2012

How it works:

40 days to Personal Revolution is a progressive program that lasts for ~6 weeks.  This breakthrough program will radically change your body and awaken your spirit.  Each day you will gently be guided through a combination of asana (yoga) practice, meditation, diet, and personal reflection and journaling.  No yoga experience is necessary to join this program.  All you need to do is show up, we'll guide you through the rest. 

4-5 days of studio yoga practice:

Each week you will be asked to take 4-5 studio yoga classes.  You can attend any class, any time.  All we ask is that you show up, and commit to giving 100%.

1-2 Days of home practice:

Depending on whether you attend 4 or 5 classes a week at the studio we ask that you begin to develop a "home" practice 1-2 days a week.  This can be a very powerful tool for you to develop and will take you practice to a new level.  You can develop your own sequence, follow one in the book, or do a video. 

Rest Day:

We ask that one day a week you rest to allow your body to restore and renew.

Meditation:

You will be asked to meditate twice daily, once in the am & in the pm.  These meditations are outlined for you in the book you will recieve.

Diet:

Each of the six weeks will focus on a weekly dietary awareness theme.  The fourth week consists of a three day fruit cleanse.

Journaling:

You will be asked to keep a daily journal during the six week period. 

Weekly Group discussion & meeting:

You will have the opportunity to meet once or twice a week with your fellow "revolutioners" to discuss how your transformation is going and share any thoughts or feelings that have come up for you.  This is not a mandatory part of the program, but is HIGHLY recommended so you can get the most out of this program.

What you will receive:

At the start of the program you will receive Baron Baptiste's book 40 Days to Personal Revolution, a NSY stainless steel water bottle (while supplies last) and 1 week FREE yoga at the completion of your 40 days.

Myth #1 I've already done the 40 Day program.

Having already done one or two or three 40 Day programs is like having done 1 or 2 or 3 yoga classes. The programs work when you work them, but have you kept the practice consistent since the last one?

40 Days is about radical change and awareness of the present moment. Our life situations change day to day and our practice is to be awake in each moment. If you're still thinking about the last 40 Days, but your personal excavation has faltered, you are living in the past (and in your head)! This personal 40 Days will be fresh and relevant to your life RIGHT NOW, no matter what you are going through. We will be working all four parts of the 40 Days: asana, meditation, balancing diet and personal excavation, using some new tools along the way. ...

Myth #2 I don't have time for the 40 Day practice. Or, I will be traveling at some time in the 40 Days.

The 40 Days to Personal Revolution is a disruption to your everyday schedule. Revolutions come about to overthrow old modes of thinking and being.

You don't have to know how you are going to do it or how it's going to play out. The 40 Days is a commitment you show up for without attachment to the results. It will not always be easy and it will not always be pretty--revolutions rarely are. If you are traveling for work or pleasure for a short time during the 40 Days, you can still be in action by continuing your practice and staying in communication with the group. The weekly meetings are an important part of the transformation process, and should be attended even if you're tired, reluctant, or have missed some of the practices.

The 40 Days is about being in action, no t being perfect. Don't let a full schedule be a barrier to signing up. Often times by adding a regular yoga and meditation practice to the daily routine, people find they have more time and more energy than they ever thought possible.
