Yoga Fundamentals

Fundamentals of yoga is an opportunity to enliven your practice in a creative and fun environment. This class is for those students looking to deepen their understanding of yoga anatomy and physiology, pranayama, and energy anatomy (chakras). For example, in a class focused on backbends, we will learn how to properly balance the movements of all involved joints - hips, lower back, upper back, shoulders and neck - with support from the breath, while exploring the movement of energy throughout the body. This class is appropriate for both beginning and continuing level students. Whether you are new to yoga or looking to sharpen your skills, yoga fundamentals offers something for everyone. Spend time strengthening and lengthening your body in the postures and learn to cultivate a smooth calm breath and a quiet mind. Whatever level of experience you bring to your mat you will leave class feeling refreshed and alive and ready for your day. Classes are taught in a 78* room.
